When I sit with my paints, I have one goal in mind - to provoke emotion with imagery influenced by the Earth. I want to take the viewer to somewhere new, a serene space cultivated by the beauty and calm of Mother Nature. 

My name is Pinky Jay, and I’m a Canada-based artist with a passion for putting brush to canvas to create inspiring expressionist works depicting abstracts of the natural world around us. My love for painting blossomed at an early age, and through practice and dedication, I earned multiple international awards. Life took me away from the medium for a spell, but I eventually rekindled my love for the art and returned to what I love most.

Each piece I create is brought to life through brush strokes of vibrant oil or acrylic paints. My eye is for landscapes that focus on the many aspects of nature, from a glowing moon to the imposing peaks of snowy mountaintops. Through my years as a painter, I continue to perfect shading techniques and color combinations to create layered works that vividly capture elements of the great outdoors. When I sit to paint a natural piece, I do so with respect for its overt visual wonders by blending natural lighting, white and gray clouds, reflective water, well-manicured lands, and plenty of color.

I’m originally from Sri Lanka, but made my way to North America, where I lived in and admired the expansive greenery of North Carolina and Florida. My travels took me through the picturesque scenery of British Columbia and places all over the globe before I settled in Florida where I currently live with my family.

I have a lot to express, and I look forward to continuing to paint encapsulating pieces for you.
